Martin was asked by the Joint Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Racing and Bloodstock to donate a painting for auction at the House of Commons in aid of The House That Jack Built. Part of the Injured Jockeys Fund, the charity’s aim is to create a rehabilitation centre for injured jockeys in the north of England. The painting Martin donated was entitled ‘So near, yet so far’.

The IJF requested Martin’s permission to issue a pack of notecards featuring watercolour paintings of ten iconic Grand National winning jockeys to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the Injured Jockeys Fund. The original watercolours had been produced in conjunction with Equestrian Art Limited, whose website features a frequently updated range of Martin’s watercolours.
